Dr. Khuong Nguyen runs Clairemont Pediatric Dental in San Diego, California. He has made a career out of taking care of people's teeth, focusing mostly on children's teeth. The person who is taking your child to Dr. Nguyen might want to know more about who he is, what kind of education he has had, and even what he likes to do in his free time. It's good to read about Dr. Nguyen's life to learn more about him.

Dr. Khuong Nguyen went to the University of California San Diego after high school. He started there in 1988. In 1993, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the school. When he went to dental school, he went to the University of Southern California, which is also called USC. He received his bachelor's degree in 1997 and promptly began an extra year of Advanced Education in General Dentistry at the University of California, Los Angeles, or UCLA. In 1997, he graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles, better known as UCLA. Then, right away, he took a year of Advanced Education in General Dentistry.

As soon as Dr. Khuong Nguyen finished this part of his education, he went to work. He quickly found out that his true passion was pediatric dentistry. With the help of the New York Health Science Center's teaching affiliate, Lutheran Medical Center in New York, he took on the task of doing a two-year residency in pediatric dentistry. This was to help him get the job that he wanted. Another one of his big accomplishments happened during the first year of this stay. He won the "Best Project in Pediatric Dentistry" award at a competition for research projects that were very good. Because of this, it was clear that Dr. Nguyen was meant to work in pediatric dentistry and that he could do great things with this field of work, too.

Dr. Khuong Nguyen has his own dental practice that focuses on treating kids. A lot of work went into this. He didn't just show up. His first job was as an associate general dentist in 1998. He worked in this job for a year before he left to do his two-year residency in pediatric dentistry at Lutheran Medical Center in St. Louis. His residency was over. He worked as an associate pediatric dentist for about three years. It was opened in 2003 by him. The year after he opened his practice, he became Board Certified. For 19 years now, Dr. Nguyen has been working for himself as a dentist. His business is still going strong today.

Dr. Khuong Nguyen has licenses that allow him to practice dentistry with children. As of right now, he is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist in the State of California. It's important for him to keep this certification because he has to take regular educational courses and show that he stays up-to-date on new pediatric dental advancements and techniques. A DEA license is also on his list of things to have. A DEA license is a federal license that the Drug Enforcement Administration gives to people in the US. The DEA says that any dentist who buys, gives out, prescribes, or administers a controlled substance must be registered and licensed. This isn't all: Dr. Nguyen has also been approved to use oral sedation. This allows him to give oral sedatives to patients as needed to help them feel less anxious or pain during dental procedures for kids. This also shows that Dr. Khuong Nguyen has been properly trained in how to give these oral sedatives to people.
